Our Story

Country Threads was born in 2021. After being furloughed from my full time job, I spent all my time at home with my young puppy, Woody. I loved accessorising him and felt there was a gap in the market for timeless, classic pieces that would last a lifetime.

I pitched the idea to my Mum, we discussed a few name ideas and we decided on a soft launch for Country Threads. Three months after launching, I received my first wholesale order, a total pinch me moment.

During this time, I was also completing my application to become an authorised Harris Tweed seller - Later this year, I became an official Harris Tweed Artisan, helping to preserve the quality and name of genuine Harris Tweed.

A standout event for my small business was during 2022. I launched a union jack bow when we first opened and this bow went viral during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The sales of this bow meant I could expand my business and so I invested in equipment to promote and sell at events.

In 2023 I launched Country Threads on TikTok Shop. This was a great accelerator for my business and helped us expand and try out different products!

Feeling a little lost with the direction of Country Threads, I reached out to the Prince's Trust to see if I was eligible for their business enterprise course. I was fortunate enough to be selected and completed the course at the end of 2023.

2024 will be a fresh start for Country Threads. We are looking to bring in new products and meet more of your lovely pets! With the help of the Princes Trust, we will be exhibiting at Crufts and we can't wait!
